Free Food, Free Concert

Locks of Love is sponsoring a free concert with The Lisa Miller Band, Thanksgiving Eve, November] 22 starting at 9 p.m.

Locks of Love is a nonprofit corporation that relies on donated ponytails and funds to provide hairpieces to children under 18 with medical hair loss. The prostheses are provided free of charge or on a sliding scale depending on the family's financial need. Applicants must complete an application in order to receive a hairpiece.

The concert will be held at One Eyed Jacks, 14-17 150th St., Whitestone, 718-746- 9512. Many prizes from local businesses will be raffled off during the evening. Raffle tickets are $10 or three for $25 and the winner need not be present to win. Free food, free haircuts and give-a-ways will be available until midnight.

Hair donations should be 10 inches or longer, from tip to tip, clean and dry, in a ponytail or braided, free from chemical damage, sorry but bleached hair will not be accepted.
