Jax Heights Film & Food Festival Holds Final Event

The 2006 Jackson Heights Film and Food Festival held its closeout celebration last Thursday, November 9. A special 7 p.m. reception featured signature dishes from favorite neighborhood restaurants, one free drink and a special slide show of "The Real Story of the Superheroes" by Dulce Pinzon. The event was co-sponsored by the Jackson Heights Y Gallery. Three award-winning short films were shown, followed by a post film discussion moderated by Prerana Reddy, Queens Museum of Art director of public events and film curator of 3rd I, a national South Asian film organization. Afterparty sounds were provided by DJ Loud-One.

The closing event of the Film and Food Festival took place at Native's Theater and Restaurant, 82-22 Northern Blvd., Jackson Heights. Bryan Pu-Folkes headed the Jackson Heights Film and Food Festival committee.
