Search Warrant Turns Up Guns, Ammo, Drugs On Friday, August 25, at approximately 12:40 a.m., under the direct supervision of 114th Police Precinct Commanding Officer Inspector Brian McCarthy, an emergency search warrant was executed due to information developed during a domestic violence assignment. The day before, Thursday, August 24, a mother came to the precinct's Domestic Violence Office requesting assistance in serving an Order of Protection issued by Family Court. The court order noted that the woman's son was said to be storing firearms and narcotics in his bedroom. The apartment was closely monitored thereafter and an investigation was conducted. It was found that prior incidents, including domestic violence incidents, complaints and arrests, had occurred. A search warrant was issued and executed. Evidence confiscated included three loaded handguns, 350 rounds of live ammunition, firearm parts, drug paraphernalia and more than a quarter of an ounce of marijuana. A 17-year-old white female and a 22-year-old white man were arrested as well. 114th Police Precinct Blotter Thursday, August 24: A 36-year-old Hispanic man was observed on 27th Street between 41st and 40th Avenues with an open container of beer in public and without identification. Upon arrest, the suspect was found in possession of a stolen credit card. He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and having an open container of alcohol in public. Two Hispanic men 21 and 27 years old were observed at Shore Boulevard and 21st Road drinking from a bottle of vodka in public and without identification. Each was charged with having an open container of alcohol in public. A 28-year-old Hispanic man was observed punching the driver of a vehicle stopped at a red light at Hoyt Avenue and 27th Street through an open window. He also kicked a door of the vehicle and proceeded to head butt an officer when apprehended. He was taken to a hospital due to intoxication and was charged with assault of a police officer, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, harassment and disorderly conduct. A 24-year-old white man was observed climbing the stairs from the basement and exiting through the lobby door of a building at 32-68 45th St., where he was not a resident. He was also observed continuing to attempt entry into other buildings on the same block. He was charged with criminal mischief and trespass. Friday, August 25: Five white males, one 15 years old and the others all 17 years old, were observed with an open container of beer inside a closed park at 31st Avenue and 51st Street. They were charged with criminal trespass and having an alcoholic beverage in an open container. A 20-year-old Hispanic man was observed running a red light. When he was stopped at 46th Street and 34th Avenue, he was found to have a suspended license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator and disobeying a traffic device. A 21-year-old man was observed stealing merchandise from 47-07 Broadway. Upon arrest, he was found to have more merchandise in his pockets. He was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. A 13-year-old black male was arrested at 62-25 30th Ave. after a victim stated that the perpetrator had approached him and demanded his bike while pushing him down to the ground and then taking the bike. The perpetrator came back, slapped the victim about the head and fled. The perpetrator was identified after a canvass of the area. He was charged with robbery and harassment. Saturday, August 26: A 31-year-old Hispanic man punched a woman in the face and pushed her to the ground at 37th Avenue and 31st Street. He was charged with riot and assault A 32-year-old white man involved in an accident at 33rd Street and Astoria Boulevard exhibited signs of intoxication. He was charged with DWI, unlicensed operator, uninsured vehicle and refusal to take a Breathalyzer test. A 26- year-old woman, a passenger in the vehicle, refused to exit the vehicle and became argumentative. Her actions prevented officers from moving the vehicle out of the street. She was charged with obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct. At 30-03 Astoria Blvd., a 21-year-old Hispanic man threw a glass bottle at an unmarked police vehicle, hitting it in the right driver's side door. He resisted arrest and was charged with that offense and with reckless endangerment. On 21st Street between 30th Road and 30th Avenue a 25-year-old black man was found in possession of marijuana and a knife. He was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and violation of a local law. A28-year-old white woman was observed running a red light. When she was stopped at Astoria Boulevard and 32nd Street, she exhibited signs of intoxication. She was charged with DWI. Sunday, August 27: A 19-year-old Hispanic woman was found with a fake ID drinking at 34-38 38th St. she was charged with possession of a forged instrument and violation of a local law. A 48-year-old white man broke the rear passenger side window of a vehicle at 25-14 27th St. and was found inside the vehicle. The suspect fled, but was apprehended shortly afterward, and was found with a screwdriver and a multipurpose "leatherman" tool. He was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal mischief, petit larceny and possession of burglar's tools. Monday, August 28: A 24-year-old Hispanic man was observed throwing bottles off his balcony at 11-37 Welling Ct. He was charged with reckless endangerment. A 22-year-old Hispanic man was charged with assault and disorderly conduct after a victim stated that the perpetrator had choked and punched the victim. The incident occurred at 21- 27 33rd Rd. A 42-year-old Hispanic man was observed using a cell phone while driving a vehicle. When he was stopped at 23rd Street and 39th Avenue, he was found to have a suspended license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator and using a cellphone while driving. Awoman stated that a 39-year-old Hispanic man pushed her onto a couch and head butted her at 32-22 48th St. He was charged with assault and harassment. Tuesday, August 29: A 53-year-old white woman threw a glass bottle at a victim's rear windshield, breaking it, at 20-12 21st Ave. The suspect was also found in possession of a knife. She was charged with criminal mischief and criminal possession of a weapon. A woman stated that a 30-year-old white man punched her in the face at 73-05 Ditmars Blvd. The man was charged with assault and harassment. A 49-year-old black woman was observed stealing merchandise from 34-37 48th St. She was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny. A 52-year-old white man was observed stealing merchandise from 50-10 Northern Blvd. He was charged with petit larceny. Wednesday, August 30: A 37-year-old Hispanic man was observed with an open container of alcohol in public at 36th Avenue and 38ht Street. Further investigation revealed there was an open warrant for his arrest. He was charged with having an alcoholic beverage in an open container. A 31-year-old black man grabbed a woman's hand, causing her pain, at 35-60 9thSt. he was charged with assault and harassment. A54-year-old Hispanic woman was asked to leave a building at 23-33 30th Ave. by the building superintendent, refused and became belligerent. She was not a resident. She was charged with criminal trespass. A 34-year-old Hispanic man was observed with a cable cutter attempting to cut a lock off a bike at 51st Street and Northern Boulevard. He was charged with possession of burglar's tools and petit larceny. A 28-year-old Hispanic man was observed using a cellphone while driving. When he was stopped at 32-55 Steinway St., he was found to have a suspended license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator and driving while using a cellphone. A 48-year-old white man was observed drinking from an open container of alcohol in public at 30th Avenue and 30th Street. On further investigation, he was found to have an open warrant for his arrest. He was charged with bail jumping and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in public. A 35-year-old white man was observed stealing merchandise from 32-50 Vernon Blvd. He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny. Thursday, August 31: An 18-year-old Hispanic man was observed disobeying a stop sign. When he was stopped at 31st Street and Astoria Boulevard, he was found to have a suspended license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator and failing to stop at a stop sign. A29-year-old Hispanic man grabbed a victim's throat, broke the victim's cellphone antenna and caused damage to an apartment at 40th Avenue and 12th Street. The perpetrator also resisted arrest. He was charged with criminal mischief, assault, criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and resisting arrest A23-year-old white man was observed near a wall at Northern Boulevard and 45th Street, where freshly painted graffiti was located, in possession of paint. Matching color was found on his clothing. He was charged with criminal mischief, making graffiti and possession of a graffiti instrument A 38-year-old white man was charged with DWI after he was involved in a car accident at 35th Street and 23rd Avenue and exhibited signs of intoxication. |
