Funding Available For Home Modifications

Queens Independent Living Center, a leader in developing housing resources for people with disabilities, has teamed up with the Margert Community Corporation to provide access to funding for home modifications to make dwelling units more accessible. The program, funded by the New York State Department of Housing and Urban Development, is accepting applications from individuals with disabilities and their families in Queens who are lowand moderate-income and need such modifications to stay in their homes or to allow them to obtain accessible entrance and egress from their homes.

To find out if you qualify for this assistance, call Queens Independent Living Center during normal working hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 718-658-2526. Funding availability is limited, so make your needs known as early as possible.
