Jackson Heights Resident Is 100 Years Old
State Senator John Sabini (standing) honored the 100th birthday of fellow Jackson Heights resident Mary Bunn Carr (seated, with balloons) with a Senate Proclamation on July 9. A member of the Jackson Heights chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) since 1972, Carr has volunteered to help feed the hungry and gave toys to children for many years. She continues to be a guiding light in her community. Her hobbies from an early age include knitting and crocheting.
