Starbucks Gives Caf Con Leche Icy Twist For Summer

The flavor of Latin America has never tasted so cool and refreshing. Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) is chillin' up a traditional favorite by introducing Iced Caf con Leche. Perfect for a refreshing morning wake-up or an afternoon rejuvenation post-siesta, this chilled variation of a popular Cuban coffee drink arrives just in time for summer.

Derived from the traditional Caf Cubano, a steaming cup of this sweet, comforting beverage served with toasted bread or Cuban crackers makes up a typical Cuban breakfast.

"Starbucks is proud not only to introduce the finest coffees to people around the world, it's also a privilege to share traditional beverages and flavors with our customers across multiple borders and continents," Michelle Gass, senior vice president of category management, said. "This customary Cuban drink is as intrinsic to Latin American cultures as green tea is to Asian cultures."

Starbucks Iced Caf con Leche is made from Starbucks Terraza Blend coffee, a classic syrup, ice and whole milk. As with all Starbucks beverages, Iced Caf con Leche can be personally customized with various milks, soy beverage offerings and an array of favorite syrups.

Livin' La Vida Frutas

While Starbucks will turn heads this summer by making some hot beverages cool, it'll also make some cold beverages "hot-hot-hot!" There's no doubt that the inspiration for this summer's refreshing blends came from exotic locales with the tropical tastes of banana, coconut, pomegranate, tangerine and lime.

Banana Coconut Frappuccino blended coffee starts with real banana puree and the finest Latin American coffees, which are blended with premium coconut syrup, milk and ice. Each Banana Coconut Frappuccino blended beverage can then be topped with whipped cream and real toasted coconut flakes for an authentic taste of a tropical escape.

For the banana purist, Starbucks'

Bananas & Crme Frappuccino blended crme is a vibrant blend of real banana puree, milk, and ice. Topped with real whipped cream, the Bananas & Crme Frappuccino blended crme is the perfect cool and creamy treat to enjoy.

Both Banana Frappuccino blended beverages are available now through August 30.

Made with all-natural, freshlybrewed Tazo green tea,

Pomegranate Frappuccino juice blend revitalizes the senses with its lively mix of pomegranate, peach and hint of mint blended with ice. It is the perfect summer refresher. Adding to the taste temptation, a serving of Pomegranate Frappuccino juice blend contains no added sugar, has as many antioxidants as equivalent amount of orange juice, and provides 40 percent of an adult's daily vitamin C requirement.
