114th Precinct Cops Nab Passenger In Stolen Car
BY LINDA J. WILSON

On July 25, officers on patrol in the 114th Precinct saw two men, a driver and a passenger, in a vehicle that had been reported stolen the day before. The car was stopped at 12th Street and 41st Avenue and the passenger, a 27-year-old black man, was arrested and charged with grand larceny auto, criminal possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

The driver, while being placed under arrest became violent, and after several minutes of struggling ran from the scene. During the ensuing foot pursuit the driver fled into the Queensbridge Houses. Interviews were conducted; a canvass met with negative results. Evidence collection was able to lift prints from the vehicle. The investigation to identify the unapprehended perpetrator continues.

On Thursday, July 20 at approximately 10 p.m., under the direct supervision of 114th Precinct Commanding Officer Inspector Brian McCarthy, members of the 114th Precinct and the Police Department Legal Bureau at the behest of a court order closed a topless bar at 29-33 23rd St. that had been the subject of numerous State Liquor Authority violations and was a chronic quality-of-life threat.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on the following day, again under McCarthy's direct supervision, 114th Precinct officers executed a search warrant at a boutique located at 37-18 31st Ave. where on two separate occasions, illegally reproduced products had been observed sold. Due to these occurrences, a court order was issued, a search warrant executed and one felony arrest resulted. Evidence, including Luis Vuitton, Fendi and Chanel products, was seized.

Due to a domestic dispute and subsequent arrest, a perpetrator was discovered to have two firearms at an apartment at 23-05 30th Ave. The apartment was secured and a search warrant was issued. Under McCarthy's direct supervision on Sunday, July 23, at approximately 3 p.m., the search warrant was executed by 114th Precinct personnel. One arrest and evidence, including a handgun, narcotics, and packing Ziploc bags, were the final result of this search warrant. 114th Police Precinct Blotter
