Park Dental, Mets Team Up
Members of Park Dental Care and the

New York

Mets are teaming up for two great causes on consecutive days in August. The first event will take place on Friday, August 25 when the Mets take on the Philadelphia Phillies at Shea Stadium. The game will be the first annual Christine Caiafa-Guarino Memorial Scholarship Fund night in memory of Caiafa-Guarino, a 31-yearold Fordham University graduate who died last year after a battle with cancer.

Caiafa-Guarino, whose husband, father and brother all graduated from Fordham University, decided to start a scholarship fund in her name in order to pay tribute to her and offer less advantaged high school students in Queens the opportunity to attend Fordham University.

The second event will take place the following day as New York Mets outfielder Xavier Nady will stop by Park Dental Care to promote dental awareness in the community. Between the hours of noon and 2 p.m. on August 26, Nady will sign autographs and speak with patients and guests on a number of topics. Dr. Gene Caiafa, clinical director of Park Dental Care, will offer free check-ups for all adults and children as a part of the dental awareness campaign. Complimentary dental x-rays will be included with these checkups. Patients will receive an in-depth oral cancer screening, as well.

All are welcome to participate in this event, which will take place at the offices of Park Dental Care, 29-14 Ditmars Blvd., Astoria. Refreshments will be served throughout the day and special gifts will be given each person who participates.
