Red Cross Continues To Assist

Since last week, staff and volunteers of the American Red Cross in Greater New York (ARC/GNY) have been assisting residents of Queens who were affected by power outages. Since Tuesday, July 18, ARC/GNY has distributed water, meals, snacks and information to thousands of residents in the affected communities in the borough. Initially, the Red Cross maintained six distribution locations. The distribution locations, including Astoria, Sunnyside and Woodside, have been re-located several times to accommodate residents. As of Tuesday, July 25, two locations, in Woodside (65th Street and 37th Avenue) and at P.S. 2 (75-10 21st Avenue), continued to operate.
