SJU Grads Win Broadcasters Contest On June 10 St. John's University graduates Kerri-Ann Dishuk and Mecca White were both selected as the Young American Broadcasters of the Year. The Young Americans Broadcasters Program was founded by seasoned industry expert Blanquita Walsh Cullum, who currently serves as the president of the National Association of Radio Talk Show Hosts (NARTSH), and was nominated by President George W. Bush to serve as a governor on the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG). The Young American Broadcasters Program is dedicated to reaching an ethnically diverse college population while encouraging students in regard to radio and Internet broadcasting. Each spring, YAB conducts a competition for talented college students who are working towards a career in talk radio and Internet broadcasting.
