Summer Jobs For Area Youths

Councilmember Peter Vallone Jr announced that the Department of Youth and Community Development through the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is providing seven weeks of entrylevel work experience for New York City youths ages 14 to 21.

SYEP provides a workplace, teaches employment skills and provides a summer income. The program's educational activities enhances the development of career awareness, the understanding of personal money management and work-related skills.

To be considered for the program the applicant must be a resident of one of the five boroughs of New York City and be at least 14 but not more than 21 years of age by July 5, 2006.
