6th Search Warrant Of 2006 Executed In 114th Precinct Execution of the sixth search warrant of 2006 by the 114th Precinct resulted in two felony arrests and seizure of significant evidence. Under the direct supervision of 114th Precinct Commanding Officer Deputy Inspector Brian McCarthy, an investigation targeted 40-05 30 Ave., a site involved in several forms of illicit activity, with documented criminal incidents transpiring at the location by the individuals later arrested. Details were presented to Judge Caputo and a search warrant was granted on February 23. Last Tuesday, February 28, at approximately 3:55 p.m., the warrant was executed. Police Officer Sydlo of the 114th Precinct Field Training Unit arrested Ba Alidune, 35, of 2360 8th Ave., Manhattan and Sy Datte, 24, of 127 West 141st St., Manhattan, and charged them with trademark counterfeiting in the second degree, criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree. Evidence included recently released movies on DVD, currently distributed music on compact discs, different sizes of plastic zip-lock envelopes sold in bulk and commonly utilized for narcotics packaging, stolen cellular telephones in the original packaging and forged products, including sunglasses, dungarees and sweat suits, primarily Rocawear and Louis Vuitton brands. McCarthy also noted that strict enforcement of the criminal trespass statute prevented a 48-yearold white man, a known recidivist for property crimes and narcotics offenses, from being charged with the more serious offense of burglary after the perpetrator knowingly entered and remained unlawfully on fenced in property at 21-78 35th St. on March 2. Crack and crack paraphernalia were found in the perpetrator's possession during a search after his arrest. McCarthy also noted that at about 11 p.m. on Friday, March 3, Club Caos at 33-05 Broadway was closed by 114th precinct police and the department legal bureau in accordance with a Nuisance Abatement Order. Clubs and other locations involved in violence and other illegal acts will be targeted in the same manner civilly, McCarthy said. Monday, February 27: + A 37-year-old black woman entered 14-01 36th Ave. snatched glasses off a complainant's face, displayed a razor blade and demanded $8, threatening to kill the male victim if she did not get the money. The victim refused to give the perpetrator the money and said he was going to call the police. The woman fled with the glasses. Officers of the 114th Precinct, accompanied by the victim, conducted a canvass of the area. They spotted the perpetrator, the victim identified her, and she was arrested. She was charged with robbery, criminal possession weapon and harassment. + During an investigation of a 311 call, a 14year-old white boy was found to have sprayed the graffiti tag "STASH" on an exterior wall of 31-20 36th St. on three separate occasions damaging the property. The boy admitted spray painting the tag, was charged with criminal mischief and making graffiti and promised to make restitution to the property owners. + A45-year-old black man was observed on the rooftop landing of the building where he lives, 4001 10th St., with a lit marijuana cigarette in public view. He was charged with criminal trespass and criminal possession of marijuana. + A 39-year-old Hispanic man was observed at 44th Street and 28th Avenue smoking a marijuana cigarette in public view and while his son was present. On arrest, he was found to have a gravity knife, which he said he carries for protection, in his possession. He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of marijuana. + At 36th Street and Broadway, a 25-year-old Hispanic man was seen to be driving recklessly. He was stopped and found to be in possession of a gravity knife. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless driving. + A 27-year-old white female driving a 2001 Honda was seen passing a steady red light at 33rd Street and Broadway. She was stopped and officers who checked with the Department of Motor Vehicles found her driver's license had been suspended. She was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and disobeying a red light. Tuesday, February 28: + A 30-year-old Hispanic man was seen driving a motor vehicle at a high rate of speed and making six illegal U-turns that left tire marks at the corner of Steinway Street and Broadway. When the car was stopped, the perpetrator was found to have slurred speech, bloodshot, watery eyes and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. + A19-year-old Hispanic man was arrested and charged with forgery in the second degree and possession of a forged instrument at 34th Street and 30th Avenue after he was stopped by officers investigating a suspected stolen vehicle and he produced a Mexican passport and a forged New York state identification card as proof of identity. + A16-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and charged with criminal trespass in the second degree inside of 34-39 34th St. when he trespassed on the roof of the building and was told to leave by the building owner. According to the complainant, the suspect has trespassed on the roof several times. + After a witness saw him pulling violently on the driver's side window of a 1999 Honda at 5135 Northern Blvd, a 28-year-old white male was arrested. He was found to be in possession of a center punch and a screwdriver, a plastic bag of marijuana and four glassine bags of heroin. He was charged with criminal mischief, criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of burglar's tools, petit larceny and unlawful possession of marijuana. Wednesday, March 1: + A29-year-old Hispanic man was seen driving a 1998 GMC while playing a loud radio at Broadway and Crescent Street. He was stopped and found to have an active warrant. One clear plastic bag containing cocaine was found in plain view on the floor of the car behind the driver's seat. After the perpetrator's arrest, 34 bags of cocaine, two bags containing 10 Ecstasy pills which were individually wrapped for the purpose of sale and nearly $6,000 in United States currency were also found in the car. The perpetrator was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and money laundering. + At 30-19 46th St. a 29-year-old white man held a BB gun to his wife's head. She told police that she was in fear for her safety and that her husband's action caused her annoyance and alarm. The man was charged with menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment. + A 25-year-old Asian man was charged with criminal trespass and criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was observed in the stairwell inside of 33-34 29th St., where he does not reside or have a family member who resides, and was at the location unlawfully. He was observed reaching down to the ground several times and was discovered to be possessing three crack pipes containing cocaine residue. + A 31-year-old Hispanic man was observed in the common driveway in the rear of private houses at 21-70 28th St., where he had no authority or permission to be, rolling a marijuana cigarette. He saw officers of the 114th Precinct and placed the marijuana cigarette in his jacket pocket. He was searched after his arrest and found to be in possession of a small bag of marijuana. He was charged with criminal possession of marijuana and trespassing. + Awitness advised an officer assigned to the 114th Precinct that a white male, later determined to be 22 years old, was dumping beer from his vehicle. The car was stopped at 33rd Street and Newtown Avenue and on further investigation, an empty green bottle was observed on the floor behind the driver's seat. The officer smelled the bottle to determine its content but instead of beer discovered a small bag of marijuana stuffed in the neck of the bottle. The suspect admitted the marijuana was his. He was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. + A 24-year-old white man refused to pay the fare for a taxi in which he was riding. He asked to be driven to an ATM when the vehicle arrived at the ATM, the perpetrator stated he had no money. The taxi driver drove the perpetrator to the 114th Precinct station house at 34-16 Astoria Blvd. where the perpetrator was arrested and charged with petit larceny and intent to obtain transportation without paying. + At 4 River Rd., Roosevelt Island, a 62-yearold black man had a dispute with a woman who he then choked and threatened with a knife, yelling "I will cut you" as he inflicted multiple lacerations behind her left ear, putting the woman in fear for her safety. The man was arrested and charged with menacing, assault with intent to cause physical injury and harassment . |
