Elected officials, civic leaders, and New York Hospital Queens (NYHQ) announced the establishment of the "Good Neighbor Club," a new health and wellness program for residents of the Queensboro Hill neighborhood. Through the "Good Neighbor Club," NYHQ will introduce a series of wellness and preventative measures to help better meet the healthcare needs of its neighbors who live nearby the hospital in recognition of the effect that a major tertiary care medical center can have on a local residential community.
New York Hospital Queens is seeking a rezoning of their campus from R4 to R6 in order to proceed with the construction of a major new hospital wing. The proposal is making its way through the Uniform Land Use Review Procedures (ULURP), having secured favorable recommendations from Community Board 7 and Queens Borough President Helen Marshall; the City Council will consider and vote on the proposal later this month.
