The Astoria branch of North Fork Bank held an impromptu celebration July 6 to mark its second year in the community. In front of the branch, a beautifully decorated, modern style, full service bank at 30-98 Steinway St., bank employees gave balloons to children and caps, children's balls and other giveaways were distributed. Italian ices were donated by the Lemon Ice King of Corona and iced tea was on tap. ADJ played music that added to the happy atmosphere arising from the bank's desire to thank the Astoria community for two years of loyalty.

The second North Fork Bank branch in the area on Broadway is now under renovation and expected to open in September or October of this year. Broadway Branch Assistant Manager David Wells, accompanied by the Broadway branch manager, stopped by and expressed congratulations and best wishes on the second anniversary to Astoria Branch Manager Hernando Sanchez.
