Northern Boulevard was transformed into a Hawaiian beach last Wednesday when City Cadillac Hummer Saab held a luau with great food and live music to celebrate the grand opening of its Saab business and Hummer showroom, the latest additions to the dealership at 43-60 Northern Blvd. in Long Island City. Sales and service personnel clad in identical Hawaiian shirts with Hummer motifs carried out the Hawaiian theme.
The Hawaiian Beach Party kicked off at 6:30 p.m. with "L'il Sammy and the Funked Up Daddies", the band started and led by City Cadillac franchise owner Sam Fox, giving renditions of tunes from the 1970s. Since starting the band three years ago, Fox, with his wife, Hillary, has used the band as a vehicle to give back to the community and those in need. In keeping with this charitable spirit, City Caddy donated $100 for every new car sold Wednesday evening June 21 through Sunday, June 25 to the Children's Health Fund mobile medical van which Port Washington school principals devised to service the medical needs of children who have been displaced from their homes by disaster. Fox is a Port Washington resident.

City Cadillac Hummer Saab has also won the Cadillac Standard For Excellence Platinum Premium Performance Award, given to only 80 dealers nationwide.
