Flushing House Hosts Elder Law Seminars

Are you a senior citizen who has been hurt by the Medicare Part D mess? Do you know about the latest Medicaid cutbacks, and have you made the necessary plans to protect your assets? Have you learned about the basic techniques to defeat scam artists who prey on senior citizens?

Baby boomers and senior citizens alike can discover answers to these and other vital questions at a series of free Elder Law Seminars hosted by Flushing House in the facility's dining hall, 38-20 Bowne St., Flushing, on Saturday afternoon, June 3, 10 and 17. All three seminars will start at 2:30 p.m. and will last until 4 p.m.

+ Saturday, June 3--Lani Sanjek, associate executive director of the New York Statewide Senior Action Council, will cover the escalating crisis with Medicare Part D, prescription drug costs and the impact on EPIC, at the first seminar. Learn about options, lobby groups and how to get help now.

+ Saturday, June 10--Ronald Fatoullah, Esq., noted elder law attorney, will explain the Medicaid Provisions of the 2005 "Deficit Reduction Act", which severely limits access to benefits, at the second seminar.
