Constantino Recognized By Share ing & Careing

Christopher Constantino, Elmhurst Hospital Center chief operating officer, was honored at the benefit.
More than 550 people attended the SHAREing & CAREing 11th anniversary benefit and fundraising silent auction at Riccardo’s by the Bridge, Astoria on November 16. “It’s overwhelming to see the number of people at this benefit,” SHAREing & CAREing founder Anna Kril said. “It’s a tribute to the breast cancer survivors we serve, the benefactors and the whole community.”

SHAREing & CAREing was founded May 7, 1994 by Kril, Carol Scarano, Lucille Hartmann and Mary Demakos to serve and support women diagnosed with and treated for breast and other cancer exclusive to women. Among the services provided in 2005 were transportation for women undergoing treatment, pharmaceutical assistance and hair prosthetics, breast cancer educational outreach to schools, churches and civic organizations and support group meetings. Some 7,680 women and their families were assisted by SHAREing & CAREing. ” Many of them have said without SHAREing & CAREing they really wouldn’t know where to go or what to do,” Kril said. “We’re unique, and nationally, I think, SHAREing & CAREing is one of the best of its kind.”
