Electronic Recycling Events Dec. 10/Jan. 8

Recycling works! Approximately 4,300 New Yorkers participated in the October electronics recycling events sponsored by the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY).

At these events, New Yorkers dropped off nearly 196 tons, 391,885 pounds of electronic equipment and 1,432 pounds of cell phones. For more information on these events and how to recycle or donate used electronic equipment, see electronics recycling at the Sanitation Department’s Web site.

If you missed October recycling and still have something you’d like to get rid of the Lower East Side Ecology Center will be holding their recycling event on Saturday, December 10 in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006 at Union Square Park in Manhattan. Funding for these events is provided by the New York Community Trust.
