Street Renamed For Transit Police Officer

The intersection of 151st Place and 9th Avenue in Whitestone, was recently renamed in the honor of deceased Transit Police Officer Thomas R. O’Dea. Family and friends attended ceremony renaming the intersection Transit Police Officer Thomas R. O’Dea Place. City Councilmember Tony Avella initiated the legislation authorizing the street renaming with the support of Community Board 7. Avella (r.) presents the sign to the O’Dea Family ( l. to r.)
