BORO Medical Prepares For Flu Season

Doctors and other medical professionals attended the BORO Medical monthly Continuing Medical Education (CME) seminar at The New Parkway Hospital on October 26. Treatment methods for an avian flu pandemic were discussed.

BORO Medical, one of the largest multi-speciality providers in the New York City area, held its monthly Continuing Medical Education (CME) seminar at The New Parkway Hospital on October 26.

Among the topics discussed was the upcoming flu season and the need to provide vaccination availability to those people in the community who need it most. Dr. Reno DiScala, medical director of BORO Medical, indicated that although the media has been focused on the possibility of an avian flu pandemic, “I feel that this threat is exaggerated, and that the focus should still remain on providing vaccinations to those most at risk.”

He advised the attending providers to counsel their patients and reassure them, when necessary. “All BORO Medical offices have adequate supplies of flu vaccine, as long as it is distributed appropriately,” DiScala added.
