FIAO Holds 5 K Run

The Federation of Italian-American Organizations of Queens, Inc. is hosting its annual 5K Run to help fight drug abuse on Saturday August 6.

The race will start at the FIAO soccer field at 20th Avenue and 33rd Street, Astoria at 10 am. Check in will be at the soccer field 8 to 9:30 a.m.

The kiddie fun run is free and open to children 5 to 10 years of age. It will be held upon completion of 5K run.

Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded for the three top males and top three females in the age categories under 14, 14 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49 and 50 and over.

Entry fee before August 5 is $10, $15 on day of race. High school students with valid ID, $7 checks should be made payable to FIAO of Queens.

Tee shirts will be distributed to the first 100 5K run participants only. Refreshments will be served after the race.
