Councilmember David Weprin (D–Hollis), second from right, was joined recently by colleagues James Gennaro (D–Fresh Meadows), far left, and Helen Sears (D–Jackson Heights), second from left, in celebrating the Sikh New Year. Weprin gave out several Council proclamations honoring achievements of members of the Sikh community. The celebration also included a cultural performance, featuring dances, songs and drumming.
