HELEN CASTRO, R.N. “I try to live by the ‘Golden Rule’, found in Matthew 7:12. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ In applying this I become more sensitive in my life and it becomes easier to extend a helping hand whenever it’s needed.”

"How do you try to help others in life?"
CARMEN MARIN “I try to be kind to people, especially to those who approach me with their problems and concerns. I try to be helpful and since I am bilingual, in Church and in the community I find many people appreciate assistance in communicating with others.” | BILL KRESSE “When it comes to helping others I’ve found it most important to be a good listener. I’ve always realized that compassion is the best way to solve any problem.” |
DONNA McGOEY “The first thing to do is to listen to people and find out what they really need and they will tell you, if you listen.” | ELIZABETH BOURKE “Some older people have had a hard time getting out to shop or to going to the Post Office because of the snow, ice and cold this winter. I check in with them before I leave work and often times find they have needs, they usually do. I talk with them and visit them.” |
EVE NICHOLS “I’ve been a volunteer for 25 years at the Catherine M. Senior Citizen Center helping seniors with their daily lives.” |
