Constance Bixby and Robert Somers were married at Queens Boulevard Extended Care Facility June 16.

Constance Bixby, a resident of Queens Boulevard Extended Care Facility, 61-11 Queens Blvd., Woodside, Queens became Mrs. Robert Somers on Monday, June 16. The couple have been companions for over 40 years and enjoyed many wonderful years together before exchanging marriage vows.

Bixby and Somers met while they worked for the New York Times. Later, Bixby worked in the Citibank accounting department until she retired at age 67 and Somers worked for several firms as a chauffeur.

Somers and Bixby enjoyed visiting with family, the theatre, movies, and long walks together before Bixby became a resident at Queens Boulevard in June 2002.

The marriage ceremony was performed at the facility by the Rev. Michael McCoy in the presence of several staff members who celebrated the occasion with the couple. Somers resides in Woodside and visits his bride everyday.
