QCC Kicks Off 2002-2003 Season With ‘South Pacific’
No passport is necessary for an enchanted evening at the Queensborough Community College Theater as Rodgers & Hammerstein’s timeless Tony award-winning classic "South Pacific" leads the 2002-2003 Professional Performing Arts Series season at 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 29.
Enjoy an evening of entertainment with French planter Emile de Becque and Nellie Forbush, a young American nurse, as their romance unfolds on an island paradise during World War II. The "South Pacific" score includes "Some Enchanted Evening," "Bali Hai" and "I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair," among many other enduring classics.
"South Pacific," based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Tales of the South Pacific by James Michener, was the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and received nine Tony Awards.
