New Senior Citizen Bus Service Bows

City Councilmember Tony Avella announced last week a new senior citizen bus service for the Le Havre community in Whitestone. "Many seniors in Le Havre complained that there was no direct bus to the local shopping centers," stated Avella. "I am delighted that together with the Samuel Field YM & YWHA we have been able to provide this key transportation service." Beginning Tuesday, September 3, the new bus service will provide seniors in the Le Havre community with transportation to the Bay Terrace Shopping Center every Tuesday and starting on Friday, September 6, to the Whitestone Shopping Center on every Friday. Service to both shopping centers will be from 10:40 a.m. to 1 p.m. Joining Avella (c.) in announcing the new senior bus service were (l. to r.) Le Havre Vice President Nicholas Vessio, Le Havre owners Corporation Executive Vice President Leonard Soberman, Samuel Field/Bay Terrace YM & YWHA Associate Executive Director Rick Lewis and resident Virginia Calandra.
