A Rainbow Extends Over MoMAQns
More than 1,000 fireworks shells fired sequentially last Saturday night to create a rainbow effect over Roosevelt Island. The pyrotechnics show was part of the festivities marking the opening of MoMA QNS, the Long Island City home of the Museum of Modern Art, while the museum's Manhattan galleries are being renovated. "Transient Rainbow" was created by Chinese artist Cai Guo-Quang and produced by Phil Grucci of the Long Island family noted for fireworks displays. The display was visible on both sides of the East River.
