Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown, surrounded by members of his staff and the New York Police Department, announce the arrest and indictment of 10 alleged pimps accused of running a Long Island City prostitution enterprise, Operation Plaza Boys. On October 25, 20 prostitutes were swept up in a raid of the area and a $2.2 million civil forfeiture action was filed. Three of the defendants face enterprise corruption charges for which they can be sentenced up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
