Listen to melodic sounds of bands and beeches at the free outdoor concerts to be held at Weeping Beech Park, 143-35 37th Ave. in Flushing. On Sunday, Sept. 9, beginning at 3 p.m. Bob and Eva Gabriel and friends will present songs, guitar trios and a sing-along from the Civil War Era such as the "Battle Cry of Freedom" and "We Are Coming Father Abraham." On Saturday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. the 12-piece jazz band under the direction of Carol Sudhalter, pictured above, will beguile listeners with tunes like "Lullaby of the Leaves," "Close Your Eyes" and more.
