LICAP On Tap
In December 2001, LICAP will launch its second annual New Plays Reading Series. Last year the series was held in Manhattan. A world-wide, online and offline search for new work yielded submissions of over 70 one-acts, monologues, full-length plays and screenplays, more than ten of which were presented in the series. This year the series moves to home base and will be held in Long Island City.
Meanwhile the Performing Arts Events Round-up outdoor summer movies in LIC continue on Wednesday through Aug. 15 at 7.30 p.m.
Music is tops at Tupela, Sunday, Aug. 5 to 26th, 8:30 pm. Artists include the Adam Caine Trio, Arun Luthra, the Pat Donaher Quartet, and the Mark Small Quartet. All shows start at 8 p.m; the performances are free. There is a one-drink minimum. Tupelo is located at 34-14 34th Avenue in Astoria.
"One-Male Show" will be performed Sunday, Aug. 12, 6 p.m. Sid Ross, producing director of LICAP will read from his monologue at the Cornelia Street Café, 29 Cornelia St., Manhattan, $6, includes a free drink.
