Won’t Prosecute Teens In Father’s Day Fire
Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown, joined by First Deputy Fire Commissioner William Feehan (l) and Chief Fire Marshall Lou Garcia announced his decision not to prosecute the two teenagers who unintentionally set off a chain of events resulting in the tragic fire at an Astoria hardware store which claimed the lives of three firefighters on Fathers Day. D.A. Brown said that while the investigation into the cause of the fire itself had been determined to have been accidental, the investigation into the cause of the subsequent explosion is ongoing.
