The Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens thanks Slattery Skanska USA for a generous donation of $5,500 to Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens Cheerleading & Dance Team for team uniforms, warmup suits and pom poms. Special thanks went to Greg Murphy, community relations manager at Slattery Skanska for this donation.

The Variety Boys & Girls Club Cheerleading & Dance Team is third-time champion, recently winning all divisions, elementary, middle and high school levels at the PULSE Cheerleading, Dance & Step Show Competition held Saturday, Mar. 3 at Mount Vernon H.S.

The Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens is a non-profit organization offering complete after-school, evening and Saturday programs including cheerleading and dance teams, computer labs, gymnasium activities, swimming, homework assistance and tutoring, game room activities, gym, arts and crafts and a performing and creative arts department. The club is located at 21-12 30th Rd., Astoria, (718) 728-0946. Membership is open to boys and girls ages six to 17. A $12 donation covers a year’s worth of activity.
