Lowey Blasts GOP Prescription Drug Plan
Rep. Nita Lowey (D-Queens), above, spoke out against the Medicare prescription drug bill that Congress narrowly passed on July 28th. Lowey, a member of the Democratic Caucus Health Task Force, voted against the bill and urged Congress to pass a stable, meaningful prescription drug benefit. "Too many seniors literally have to choose between purchasing needed medications and putting food on their table. But the Republican bill the House passed yesterday is nothing more than a Band-Aid on a gaping wound," Lowey said.
