New Senior Programs, Benefits; Some HMOs May Drop Medicare Programs

     Thanks to an amicable budget negotiation between Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and City Council Speaker Peter Vallone, a spending plan for the year beginning July 1st includes, among benefits for all groups, some extra benefits for seniors.

Artist Joins Cow Parade
     Local artist Edwin Cadiz submitted a design for one of the 500 cows being painted as part of the New York exhibition called the CowParade, set to open June 15th. The exhibition started last summer in Chicago. Cadiz has designed Tropicow, which will ultimately be displayed at the Bahamas Travel Bureau. Cadiz is also the director of the HANAC Ravenswood Senior Center, where he is shown working on the cow.
