Goliard Honors Vallone Sr.

GOLIARD HONORS VALLONE SR: Former City Council Speaker Peter Vallone was honored recently for his 28 years of dedication to New York City and his commitment to the arts by Goliard Concerts, Astoria’s chamber music society. The citation came at the annual Goliard cocktail party and concert at the Steinway Reformed Church on Ditmars Boulevard.

Upon being presented with a plaque, Vallone said he was happy to continue his father’s [the late Charles Vallone] tradition of commitment to the arts in our community. "It is great to see the arts are alive and well in our communities, so we can get out and participate in exciting programs right here in our neighborhood," he said.

Goliard President Paula Trushin said, "Without Mr. Vallone’s support over the years, Goliard would not have developed nearly as fully as it has."

Among those present was Vallone’s son, Councilmember Peter Vallone Jr.
