Sunnyside Community Services (SCS) Youth Department in collaboration with Sunnyside Gardens Community Association is sponsoring "Theater in the Park," a Mardi Gras Sunnyside Style, on Sunday, August 18, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Sunnyside Gardens, 48-21 39th Ave. Bring family and friends and enjoy a day of free, fun-filled activities including entertainment and dance, performances by SCS’s Young and Mature Choir and the children of the SCS Beacon Summer Camp program, face painting, arts and crafts, parades, conga lines, puppet shows, stilt walking and a gospel chorus. The main event will be a musical play performed by the Theater for the New City. Information booths will provide community members with resource materials and registration opportunities for services provided by SCS.
