Mary Leonardi “I liked looking at the happy clowns. It’s a happy time—looking at children having fun, even the old children”

What thoughts did you have during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade?
Nora Amado “The Macy’s parade is recognized because it symbolizes one of the special happening sin New York City. It is wonderful to see the bands from many parts of the country and funny clowns and families laughing at them. The balloons are great!”
Isabella Leniston “When I watched it was good to see the police and firefighters carrying the two 54 feet American flags in the parade. We hope and pray we’ll have peace in the world. It was good to see the children and their parents watching the parade together.”
Mary Califano “When I saw the float of the Statue of Liberty I thought of how appropriate at this time. We never thought America would experience what we face now. So many young lives were lost. The parade saw patriotism at its best. ”
Steve Kulhanek “I liked the fact that despite recent tragic events the parade went on. The parade reminds us that even in difficult times we have much to be thankful for.”
Debbie Guha “I loved the New York City Police Officer who sang the Star Spangled Banner. I am grateful that the parade went forward in light of the events of 911. It is a treasure of our New York City tradition at Thanksgiving.”
