Lina Lenis-Rodas “I’ll honor my mother in a special way that is a custom in her country—mariachis—and have five or six men who will serenade her with their guitars and they will sing sentimental songs that will please her. This will remind her how it;s wonderful to be a mother and we do this because we love her and say thanks!”

How will you observe Mother’s Day?

Hector Justinico “Mother’s Day is a special time for many people throughout the world. My friends will get together and we’ll express our thanks for our mothers. In my case I’m so grateful for the way she’s brought me up. I’ll have flowers and presents for her. She’s very special for so many of us.”
Margoth Bonilla “This is a day when we recognize the mothers and what they do—not just for our own, but for mothers everywhere. Religion is important for them and they learn a lot of good things through the years to share with their family and others.”

Elizabeth surjani-Gopal “My sister and I have a special day planned for her and for us. We’ll be taking a boat ride around Manhattan Island. It’s nice that we can remember our mothers and know that so many others salute mothers for what they do for so many people.”
Guadalupe Madrid “It will be a wonderful for all of us. I’m a volunteer at Elmhurst Hospital and it brings me a lot of satisfaction and I hope my friends will have a good Mothers Day with their families too.”

Kimberly Neri “This is a new experience for me because I recently became a mother. It means I have joined the sisterhood of women who are eligible for a claim to be among many who are recognized on Mother’s Day.”
