Play ball—who is your favorite player, past or present and why?

Dom DeSantis “Babe Ruth is my selection. I’m am old-timer and remember seeing him hit home runs in the Bronx in years before many of your readers were born. He symbolized the ultimate in baseball.”

Tom Rodden “Gil Hodges is my choice. An excellent player, a gentleman both on and off the filed. Good family man and a good manager that had the respect of his players.”
