By Rev. Austin H. Armitstead With DDW

This week’s question:

What does Veteran’s Day mean to you?

Jack Fitzgerald

"As a veteran with 3 brothers in WWII and a father in WWI, Veteran’s Day renews and strengthens my understanding of the sacrifices made by so many people."

Joann Villodas

"It is a day of recognition in remembrance of the military personnel that sacrificed their lives for the country. We also recognize the men and women who continue to serve throughout the world and this country."

Lia padilla

"I think it’s good to remember all the people who gave of their lives to help all of us have a better quality of life. Many men and women continue to serve in the army, marines, navy and coast guard. We thank them."

Walter Klien

"It is a special day for all of us to remember all men and women in our armed services who gave their lives on our behalf. We would not be here today if it weren’t for their sacrifices. God bless them, and that’s my thought."

George Kelly

"I am a veteran of two wars, WWII and the Korean War. I consider the day significant. I am not a rip-roaring militarist. I remember my peers who made so many sacrifices. I fear that we can have millions who participate in baseball ticker-tape parades and forget the veterans today."

Raymond Bermudez

"Although I’m not a veteran, I feel we should pay homage to our people who have served our country on our behalf, when we were at war or had to defend the rights of the oppressed. This remembers the past and anticipates the future."
